Pairing instructions are not displayed on the screen
NOTE:
- Check the vehicle battery condition first Battery Test.
- Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
- Some mobile phones do not support the function.
- On some phones, the connection guidance appears only when you pair the phone.
- Check online at www.acura.com/handsfreelink or call the HFL support desk at 888-528-7876 to make sure the Bluetooth phone is compatible with the HFL system and that there are no known issues.
1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
2. Check if any modes (AM, FM, CD) other than Bluetooth audio is displayed.
Do the other modes display normally?
YES -
Go to step 3.
NO -
Substitute a known-good audio unit Audio Unit Removal / Installation, and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original audio unit Audio Unit Removal / Installation.
3. Press DISC/AUX button to select Bluetooth audio source.
Does it change to Bluetooth audio source?
YES -
Go to step 4.
NO -
Go to Bluetooth audio does not work troubleshooting Symptom Troubleshooting.
4. Check if the audio system functions normally.
Is the system normally?
YES -
Go to step 5.
NO -
Go to No sound when Bluetooth audio does not work troubleshooting Symptom Troubleshooting.
5. If you have the client's Bluetooth phone, go to step 6. Otherwise, pair a known-good cell phone to the client's vehicle.
Can you pair the Bluetooth phone, and does it operate normally?
YES -
The client's Bluetooth phone is defective or not compatible.
NO -
Substitute a known-good HandsFreeLink control unit Service and Repair, and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original HandsFreeLink control unit Service and Repair.
6. Pair the client's Bluetooth phone to a known-good vehicle.
Can you pair the Bluetooth phone, and does it operate normally?
YES -
Substitute a known-good HandsFreeLink control unit Service and Repair, and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original HandsFreeLink control unit Service and Repair.
NO -
The client's Bluetooth phone is defective or not compatible.
