Trunk / Liftgate: Adjustments




Trunk Lid Adjustment

NOTE:

- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to scratch the trunk lid, the body, or the related parts.
- Have an assistant help you when adjusting the trunk lid.

1. Remove these items:

- Rear shelf Service and Repair
- Trunk side trim panels, both sides Interior Trim Removal / Installation - Trunk Area
- Trunk lid support strut, both sides Trunk Lid Support Strut Replacement

2. Slightly loosen the trunk hinge bolts (A).





3. Adjust the trunk lid (B) alignment in the following sequence:

- Adjust the trunk lid hinges (C) right and left, as well as forward and rearward, by using the elongated holes. Take care not to hit the rear window when loosening the bolts.
- Turn the trunk lid edge cushions (D), in or out as necessary, to make the trunk lid fits flush with the body at the rear and the side edges.
- Loosen the striker mounting bolts (E) with a TORX T30 bit, and adjust the fit between the trunk lid and the trunk lid opening by moving the striker (F).

4. Tighten the bolts to the specified torque.

5. Make sure the trunk lid opens properly and locks securely.

6. Reinstall all removed parts.
