DTC Troubleshooting: B1175

DTC B1175:

Fuel Level Sensor (Fuel Gauge Sending Unit) Circuit Malfunction

1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0) and then back to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode and then the ON mode.

3. Wait at least than 30 seconds.

4. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTCs B1175 indicated?

YES -

- Without SH-AWD: Go to step 5.
- With SH-AWD: Go to step 10.

NO -

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections.

5. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

6. Disconnect the fuel gauge sending unit 4P connector.

7. Disconnect the gauge control module 32P connector.

8. Check for continuity between gauge control module 32P connector terminals No. 2 and No. 4 and fuel gauge sending unit 4P connector terminals No. 3 and No. 1 respectively.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Go to step 9.

NO -

Repair an open or high resistance in the wire.

9. Do the fuel gauge sending unit test Testing and Inspection.

Is the fuel gauge sending unit OK?

YES -

Replace the gauge control module Service and Repair.

NO -

Replace fuel gauge sending unit Fuel Pump/Fuel Gauge Sending Unit Replacement.

10. Disconnect the fuel gauge sending 4P connector.

11. Disconnect the secondary fuel gauge sending unit 4P connector.

12. Check for continuity between fuel gauge sending unit 4P connector terminal No. 3 and secondary fuel gauge sending unit 4P connector terminal No. 1.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Go to step 13.

NO -

Repair an open or high resistance in the wire.

13. Disconnect the gauge control module 32P connector.

14. Check for continuity between gauge control module 32P connector terminal No. 2 and fuel gauge sending unit 4P connector terminal No. 3.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Go to step 15.

NO -

Repair an open or high resistance in the wire.

15. Check for continuity between gauge control module 32P connector terminal No. 4 and secondary fuel gauge sending unit 4P connector terminal No. 1.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Go to step 16.

NO -

Repair an open or high resistance in the wire.

16. Do the fuel gauge sending unit test Testing and Inspection.

Is the fuel tank unit OK?

YES -

Go to step 17.

NO -

Replace fuel gauge sending unit Fuel Pump/Fuel Gauge Sending Unit Replacement.

17. Do the secondary fuel gauge sending unit test Testing and Inspection.

Is the secondary fuel gauge sending unit OK?

YES -

Replace the gauge control module Service and Repair.

NO -

Replace the secondary gauge sending unit Secondary Fuel Gauge Sending Unit Removal/Installation.
