DTC Troubleshooting: B1775
DTC B1775:
Microphone input/output shorted to power or open (with navigation)
NOTE: Check the vehicle battery condition first Battery Test.
1. Do the HFL Self-Diagnostic Function, and check for HFL DTCs.
Is DTC B1775 indicated?
YES -
Go to step 2.
NO -
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.
2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
3. Check for poor connection or loose terminals at the HFL-navigation microphone 7P connector.
Are the connection or terminals OK?
YES -
Go to step 4.
NO -
Repair poor connections or loose terminals, and recheck.
4. Disconnect the HFL-navigation microphone 7P connector.
5. Remove the center console panel Center Console Panel Removal / Installation.
6. Disconnect the HandsFreeLink control unit 32P connector.
7. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.
8. Measure the voltage between HandsFreeLink control unit 32P connector terminal No. 15 and body ground.
Is there voltage?
YES -
There is a short to power in the wire between the HandsFreeLink control unit and the HFL-navigation microphone. Replace the affected shielded harness.
NO -
Go to step 9.
9. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
10. Check for continuity between HandsFreeLink control unit 32P connector terminals No. 15 and No. 16 and HFL-navigation microphone 7P connector terminals No. 3 and No. 2 respectively.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Go to step 11.
NO -
There is an open in the wire between the HandsFreeLink control unit and the HFL-navigation microphone. Replace the affected shielded harness.
11. Disconnect audio-navigation unit connector H (28P).
12. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.
13. Measure the voltage between HandsFreeLink control unit 32P connector terminal No. 31 and body ground.
Is there voltage?
YES -
There is a short to power in the wire between the HandsFreeLink control unit and the audio-navigation unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.
NO -
Go to step 14.
14. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
15. Substitute a known-good HFL-navigation microphone HFL-Navigation Microphone Removal / Installation.
16. Reconnect the HandsFreeLink control unit 32P connector and audio-navigation unit connector H (28P).
17. Do the HFL Self-Diagnostic Function, and check for HFL DTCs.
Is DTC B1775 indicated?
YES -
Substitute a known-good HandsFreeLink control unit Service and Repair, and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original HandsFreeLink control unit Service and Repair. If the symptom/indication is still present, replace the audio-navigation unit Audio-Navigation Unit Removal/Installation.
NO -
Replace the original HFL-navigation microphone HFL-Navigation Microphone Removal / Installation.
