DTC Troubleshooting: B2969

DTC B2969:

Climate Control Unit Lost Communication with Driver's MICU (WIPSW message)

NOTE: If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in the B-CAN system diagnosis test mode A Troubleshooting - B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A.

1. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then back to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode and then the ON mode.

3. Wait for at least 6 seconds.

4. Do the Self-Diagnostic Function with the HDS.

5. Check the DTCs.

Is DTC B2969 indicated?

YES -

Go to step 6.

NO -

The system is OK at this time. Check for loose wires or poor connections on the driver's MICU and climate control unit circuit.

6. Select B-CAN Control Units Information in the BODY ELECTRICAL menu.

7. Select Check Connected Control Units in the B-CAN Control Units Information menu.

Is the driver's MICU detected?

YES -

Substitute a known-good climate control unit, and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original climate control unit Climate Control Unit Removal/Installation.

NO -

Go to step 8.

8. Disconnect driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connector P (20P).

9. Disconnect climate control unit connector C (20P).

10. Check for continuity between the following terminals of climate control unit connector C (20P) and driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connector P (20P).









Is there continuity?

YES -

Go to the driver's MICU input test Drivers and Passengers MICU Input Test.

NO -

Repair an open in the wire(s) between the driver's MICU and the climate control unit.
