Navigation System DTC Troubleshooting: 1501, 2703

NOTE:

- Check the vehicle battery condition first Battery Test.
- These navigation DTCs sets when a communication error between the climate control unit and the audio-navigation unit (open or short) is detected.
- Check for B-CAN DTCs and resolve them before troubleshooting.
- Before you troubleshoot, make sure to follow the General Troubleshooting Information How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System.

1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode, then back to ON (II), or the ON mode.

2. Go into the System Diagnostic Mode, and select the Self-Diagnosis Mode in the Select Diagnosis Items menu Navigation System Diagnostic Mode.

3. Check the System Link.

Is the Aircon icon red?

YES -

Go to step 4.

NO -

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.

4. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

5. Disconnect audio-navigation unit connector D (36P).

6. Connect audio-navigation unit connector D (36P) terminals No. 10 and No. 11 with a jumper wire, then connect terminals No. 10 and No. 27 with a jumper wire.





7. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

8. Press and hold the AUTO button, then press and hold the ON/OFF button.

Are both HEAT/VENT indicators solid with the remaining icons blinking?

YES -

Replace the audio-navigation unit Audio-Navigation Unit Removal/Installation.

NO -

Go to step 9.

9. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode, then disconnect the jumper wires.

10. Disconnect the jumper wires.

11. Disconnect climate control unit connector C (20P).

12. Connect climate control unit connector C (20P) terminals No. 4 and No. 5 with a jumper wire, then connect terminals No. 5 and No. 6 with a jumper wire.






13. Check for continuity between audio-navigation unit connector D (36P) terminals No. 10 and No. 11, and between terminals No. 10 and No. 27.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Go to step 14.

NO -

Repair an open in the wire(s) between the audio-navigation unit and the climate control unit.

14. Disconnect the jumper wires.

15. Check for continuity between body ground and audio-navigation unit connector D (36P) terminals No. 10, No. 11, and No. 27 individually.





Are there continuity?

YES -

Repair a short to body ground in the wire(s) between the audio-navigation unit and the climate control unit.

NO -

Go to step 16.

16. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

17. Measure the voltage between body ground and audio-navigation unit connector D (36P) terminals No. 10, No. 11, and No. 27 individually.





Is the voltage above 0.2 V?

YES -

Repair a short to power in the wire(s) between the audio-navigation unit and the climate control unit.

NO -

Replace the climate control unit Climate Control Unit Removal/Installation.
