DTC Troubleshooting: B1775
DTC B1775:
Microphone input/output shorted to power or open (without navigation)
NOTE:
- Check the vehicle battery condition first Battery Test.
- If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN system diagnosis test mode A Troubleshooting - B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A.
1. Connect the HDS to the DLC How to Troubleshoot the HandsFreeLink System.
2. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
3. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode, then back to ON (II), or the ON mode
4. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC B1775 indicated?
YES -
Go to step 5.
NO -
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.
5. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
6. Check for poor connection or loose terminals at the roof console 20P connector.
Are the connection or terminals OK?
YES -
Go to step 7.
NO -
Repair poor connections or loose terminals, and recheck.
7. Disconnect the roof console 20P connector.
8. Remove the center console panel Center Console Panel Removal / Installation.
9. Disconnect the HandsFreeLink control unit 28P connector.
10. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.
11. Measure the voltage between HandsFreeLink control unit 28P connector terminal No. 13 and body ground.
Is there voltage?
YES -
There is a short to power in the wires between the HandsFreeLink control unit and the HFL microphone. Replace the affected shielded harness.
NO -
Go to step 12.
12. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
13. Check for continuity between HandsFreeLink control unit 28P connector terminals No. 13 and No. 14 and roof console 20P connector terminals No. 20 and No. 19 respectively.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Substitute a known-good HFL microphone HFL Microphone Removal / Installation, and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original HFL microphone HFL Microphone Removal / Installation. If the symptom/indication is still present, replace the HandsFreeLink control unit Service and Repair.
NO -
There is an open in the wire between the HandsFreeLink control unit and the HFL microphone. Replace the affected shielded harness.
