NOTE:
- Check the vehicle battery condition first Battery Test.
- This navigation DTC sets when NG is indicated in the HFT diagnosis.
- Before you troubleshoot, make sure to follow the General Troubleshooting Information How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System.
1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode, then back to ON (II), or the ON mode.
2. Go into the System Diagnostic Mode, and select the Self-Diagnosis Mode in the Select Diagnosis Items menu Navigation System Diagnostic Mode.
3. Check the System Link.
Is the XM (HIP) icon red?
YES -
Go to DTC 2704 Troubleshooting 2704.
NO -
Go to step 4.
4. Go into the System Diagnostic Mode, and select the Self-Diagnosis Mode in the Select Diagnosis Items menu Navigation System Diagnostic Mode.
5. Check the System Link.
Is the HFL icon red?
YES -
Go to step 6.
NO -
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.
6. Select the HFT in the System Link, and check for HFL DTCs.
Are there any HFL DTCs indicated?
YES -
Repair the indicated HFL DTC(s).
NO -
Go to step 7.
7. Check the HFT diagnosis.
Is DESIP NG indicated?
YES -
Go to step 8.
NO -
Replace the audio-navigation unit Audio-Navigation Unit Removal/Installation.
8. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
9. Remove the center console panel Center Console Panel Removal / Installation.
10. Disconnect the HandsFreeLink control unit 32P connector, and AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P).
11. Check for continuity between the terminals of HandsFreeLink control unit 32P connector according to the table.
Is there continuity between any of the terminals?
YES -
There is a short in the wires between the HandsFreeLink control unit and the audio-navigation unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.
NO -
Go to step 12.
12. Check for continuity between body ground and HandsFreeLink control unit 32P connector terminals No. 6, No. 7, No. 22, and No. 23 individually.
Is there continuity?
YES -
There is a short to body ground in the wire(s) between the HandsFreeLink control unit and the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver). Replace the affected shielded harness.
NO -
Go to step 13.
13. Connect HandsFreeLink control unit 32P connector terminals No. 6, No. 7, No. 22, and No. 23 to body ground with jumper wires.
14. Check for continuity between body ground and AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P) terminals No. 22, No. 23, No. 24, and No. 25 individually.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Replace the HandsFreeLink control unit Service and Repair.
NO -
There is an open in the wire(s) between the HandsFreeLink control unit and the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver). Replace the affected shielded harness.
