Navigation System Symptom Troubleshooting - Interface dial buttons do not work
Interface dial buttons do not work
NOTE:
- Check the vehicle battery condition first Battery Test.
- Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
- Check any official Honda service website for more service information about the navigation system.
- Before troubleshooting, make sure you have anti-theft code.
- After troubleshooting, enter the anti-theft code.
1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.
2. Go into the System Diagnostic Mode, and use the Hard Key test under the Unit Check.
Do the interface dial buttons work properly?
YES -
The system is OK at this time.
NO -
Go to step 3.
3. Measure the voltage between interface dial 5P connector terminal No. 4 and body ground.
Is there battery voltage?
YES -
Go to step 4.
NO -
Repair an open in the wire between the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box and the interface dial.
4. Measure the voltage between interface dial 5P connector terminal No. 3 and body ground.
Is there less than 0.2 V?
YES -
Go to step 5.
NO -
Repair an open or high resistance in the wire between the interface dial and body ground (G501) Audio Wire Harness.
5. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
6. Disconnect audio-navigation unit connector H (28P).
7. Disconnect the interface dial 5P connector.
8. Check for continuity between audio-navigation unit connector H (28P) terminal No. 26 and interface dial 5P connector terminal No. 1.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Go to step 9.
NO -
There is an open in the wire between the interface dial and the audio-navigation unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.
9. Check for continuity between audio-navigation unit connector H (28P) terminals No. 13 and No. 26.
Is there continuity?
YES -
There is a short in the wires between the audio-navigation unit and the interface dial. Replace the affected shielded harness.
NO -
Substitute a known-good interface dial Service and Repair, then reconnect all of the connectors, and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original interface dial Service and Repair. If the symptom/indication is still present, replace the audio-navigation unit Audio-Navigation Unit Removal/Installation.
