Navigation System DTC Troubleshooting: 2707

DTC 2707:

MIC Diag

NOTE:

- Check the vehicle battery condition first Battery Test.
- This navigation DTC sets when a problem is detected in the microphone circuit.
- Check any official Honda service website for more service information about the navigation system.
- Before you troubleshoot, make sure to follow the General Troubleshooting Information How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System.

1. Clear the hard error code.

2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0) and then back to ON (II).

3. Go into the System Diagnostic Mode, and select the Self-Diagnosis Mode.

4. Check the System Links.

Is the Mic icon red?

YES -

Go to step 5.

NO -

Go to step 10.

5. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

6. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the HandsFreeLink control unit 28P connector and the HFL-navigation microphone 7P connector.

Are the connections or terminals OK?

YES -

Go to step 7.

NO -

Repair poor connections or loose terminals, and recheck.

7. Connect the HDS to the DLC.

8. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

9. Check for HFL DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC B1775 or B1776 indicated?

YES -

Troubleshoot the indicated DTC(s).

NO -

Go to step 13.

10. Go into the System Diagnostic Mode, and select the Self-Diagnosis Mode.

11. Select the Mic in the System Links.

12. Check the Mic Level by pressing the TALK button on the voice control switch, then say "Testing" in front of the microphone.

Is the microphone level OK?

YES -

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.

NO -

Replace the HFL-navigation microphone HFL-Navigation Microphone Removal / Installation.

13. Measure the voltage between body ground and HFL-navigation microphone 7P connector terminals No. 6 and No. 7 individually.





Is there battery voltage?

YES -

Go to step 14.

NO -

If the+B wire does not have voltage, repair an open in the wire between the No. 15 (10 A) fuse under-hood fuse/relay box and the HFL-navigation microphone. If the ACC wire does not have voltage, repair an open in the wire between the No. 18 (7.5 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box and the HFL-navigation microphone.

14. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

15. Disconnect the HFL-navigation microphone 7P connector.

16. Check for continuity between HFL-navigation microphone 7P connector terminal No. 2 and body ground.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Go to step 23.

NO -

Go to step 17.

17. Check for continuity between HandsFreeLink control unit 28P connector terminal No. 14 and body ground.





Is there continuity?

YES -

There is an open in the wire between the HFL-navigation microphone and the HandsFreeLink control unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.

NO -

Go to step 18.

18. Disconnect the HandsFreeLink control unit 28P connector.

19. Check for continuity between HandsFreeLink control unit 28P connector terminal No. 28 and body ground.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Replace the HandsFreeLink control unit Service and Repair.

NO -

Go to step 20.

20. Check for continuity between audio-navigation unit connector H (28P) terminal No. 27 and body ground.





Is there continuity?

YES -

There is an open in the wire between the audio-navigation unit and the HandsFreeLink control unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.

NO -

Go to step 21.

21. Disconnect audio-navigation unit connector A (24P).

NOTE: Eject all the disc(s) before disconnecting the audio-navigation unit to prevent damaging the CD/DVD player's load mechanism.

22. Check for continuity between audio-navigation unit connector A (24P) terminal No. 12 and body ground.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Replace the audio-navigation unit Audio-Navigation Unit Removal/Installation.

NO -

Repair an open or high resistance in the wire between the audio-navigation unit and body ground (G651); Sedan Right Side Wire Harness, Rear Window Defogger Ground Wire, Sport Wagon .

23. Disconnect audio-navigation unit connector H (28P) and the HandsFreeLink control unit 28P connector.

24. Check for continuity between HandsFreeLink control unit 28P connector terminal No. 27 and audio-navigation unit connector H (28P) terminal No. 28.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Substitute a known-good HandsFreeLink control unit Service and Repair, and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original HandsFreeLink control unit Service and Repair. If the symptom/indication is still present, replace the audio-navigation unit Audio-Navigation Unit Removal/Installation.

NO -

There is an open in the wire between the HandsFreeLink control unit and the audio-navigation unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.
