DTC Troubleshooting: U0100

DTC U0100:

F-CAN Lost Communication with ECM/PCM

1. Connect the HDS to the DLC How to Troubleshoot the AcuraLink.

2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

3. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0) and then back to ON (II).

4. Check for DTC with the HDS.

Is DTC U0100 indicated?

YES -

Go to step 5.

NO -

Intermittent failure, the F-CAN communication line is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver).

5. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

6. Disconnect AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P).

7. Jump the SCS line with the HDS.

8. Disconnect ECM/PCM connector A (49P).

9. Check for continuity between AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P) terminals No. 6 and No. 7 and ECM/PCM connector A (49P) terminals No. 4 and No. 3 respectively.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver). If all connections are OK, replace the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver); Sedan, Sport Wagon.

NO -

Repair an open in the wire(s) between the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) and the ECM/PCM.
