Solar Sensor: Testing and Inspection

Sunlight Sensor Test

NOTE:

- When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape to prevent damage.
- Before testing the sensor, check for climate control DTCs Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview.

1. Remove the sunlight sensor (A) Service and Repair.

2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II). Measure the voltage between the terminals with the (+) probe on terminal No. 4 and the (-) probe on the terminal No. 2 with the connector connected.

NOTE: The voltage readings will not change under the light of a flashlight or a fluorescent lamp.
Voltage should be:

- 3.56 V with no sunlight or the sensor covered up.
- Less than 3.56 V with sunlight on the sensor (depending on sunlight intensity).

3. If the voltage is not as specified, replace the sunlight sensor Service and Repair.
