Audio System Symptom Troubleshooting - Error code: XM ANTENNA or XM LOADING is displayed
Error code: XM ANTENNA or XM LOADING is displayed (with AcuraLink)
NOTE:
- Check the vehicle battery condition first Battery Test.
- If you replace the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver), the AcuraLink must be reactivated by Acura Client Services.
- Check XM radio reception in an open area. Poor reception/interference can be caused by tall buildings, mountains, or high-voltage power lines.
- Check the connectors for poor connection or loose terminals.
1. Park vehicle outside with a clear view of the southern horizon.
2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
3. Do the XM Self-Diagnosis.
Are there XM error codes displayed?
YES -
Refer to Solution for troubleshooting. If ERROR 14 or ERROR 24 is displayed, go to step 4.
NO -
Go to step 4.
4. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
5. Check the connectors at the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver).
Are the connectors connected?
YES -
Go to step 6.
NO -
Reconnect the connector(s), and recheck. If the error message does not go away, go to step 6.
6. Check the XM antenna 2P connector.
Is the connector connected?
YES -
Go to step 7.
NO -
Reconnect the connector, and recheck. If the error message does not go away, go to step 7.
7. Substitute a known-good XM antenna Removal and Replacement, and recheck the error code.
Is the error message gone?
YES -
Replace the original XM antenna Removal and Replacement.
NO -
Go to step 8.
8. Substitute a known-good AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) AcuraLink Control Unit (XM Receiver) Removal/Installation, and recheck the error code.
Is the error message gone?
YES -
Update the AcuraLink control unit Programming and Relearning if it does not have the latest software. If the software is the latest, replace the original AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) AcuraLink Control Unit (XM Receiver) Removal/Installation.
NO -
Replace the XM antenna lead.
