DTC Troubleshooting: B1662

DTC B1662:

Middle Interior LF Antenna Circuit Open or Short

NOTE: If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A Troubleshooting - B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A.

1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

2. Select the MODE MENU from the HDS, then enter the SELF CHECK.

3. Do the SELF CHECK.

4. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC B1662 indicated?

YES -

Go to step 5.

NO -

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections.

5. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

6. Disconnect keyless access control unit connector A (36P).

7. Disconnect the middle interior LF antenna 2P connector.

8. Check for continuity between body ground and keyless access control unit connector A (36P) terminals No. 6 and No. 24 individually.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Repair a short to ground in the wire(s).

NO -

Go to step 9.

9. Check for continuity between keyless access control unit connector A (36P) terminals No. 6 and No. 24 and middle interior LF antenna 2P connector terminals No. 1 and No. 2 respectively.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Go to step 10.

NO -

Repair an open or high resistance in the wire(s).

10. Check for continuity between keyless access control unit connector A (36P) terminals No. 6 and No. 24.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Repair a short between the wires.

NO -

Go to step 11.

11. Reconnect the middle interior LF antenna 2P connector.

12. Measure the resistance between keyless access control unit connector A (36P) terminals No. 6 and No. 24.





Is there 1-5 Ohms?

YES -

Replace the keyless access control unit.

NO -

Replace the middle interior LF antenna Keyless Access LF Antenna (Middle Interior) Replacement.
