DTC Troubleshooting: U0100

DTC U0100:

F-CAN Lost Communication with PCM

1. Connect the HDS to the DLC.

2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

3. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode. and then back to ON (II), or the ON mode.

4. Check for DTC with the HDS.

Is DTC U0100 indicated?

YES -

Go to step 5.

NO -

Intermittent failure, the F-CAN communication line is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver).

5. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

6. Disconnect AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P).

7. Jump the SCS line with the HDS.

8. Disconnect PCM connector A (49P).

9. Check for continuity between AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P) terminals No. 6 and No. 7 and PCM connector A (49P) terminals No. 49 and No. 48 respectively.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver). If all connections are OK, replace the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) AcuraLink Control Unit (XM Receiver) Removal/Installation.

NO -

Repair an open in the wire between the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) and the PCM.
