Front Seat Rail Replacement - Driver's Seat

Special Tools Required

- KTC Trim Tool Set SOJATP2014

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations Locations and the precautions and procedures Service and Repair before doing repairs or service.

Check the operation of the driver's seat position sensor Testing and Inspection after driver's seat position sensor replacement.

NOTE:

- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to tear or damage the seat covers.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.

1. Raise the seat all the way up.

2. Remove the front seat Front Seat Removal / Installation.

3. Remove these items:

- Front seat recline cover Front Seat Recline Cover Removal / Installation
- Seat belt buckle

4. Detach the clips (A, B), then remove the upper rail outer cover (C).






5. Detach the clip, then remove the upper rail inner cover (A).






6. Remove the slide motor cover (A).





7. Disconnect the slide motor connector (B), then detach the harness clip (C).

8. Disconnect the driver's seat position sensor connector (A), then detach the harness clip (B).






9. Remove the bolts with a TORX T30 bit, then remove the front seat rail (A).






10. Remove the bolt and nut with a TORX T30 bit, then remove the driver's seat position sensor (A) from the front seat rail (B).






11. Install the seat rail in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

- Clear any DTCs with the HDS.
- Check the operation of the driver's seat position sensor with the HDS Testing and Inspection.
- Confirm proper SRS operation: Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode, and check that the SRS indicator comes on for about 6 seconds and then goes off.
- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- Push the clips into place securely.
- Be sure to install the harness so it is not pinched or interferes with other parts.
- Check the seat slide operation.
