Fuel Delivery and Air Induction: Tools and Equipment
USE OF PRESSURE GAUGE
Many of the C.I.S. tests are made with a suitable pressure gauge (V.W.1318 or P378). When performing these tests always observe the following precautions:
1. Be sure that engine and fuel pump are turned off before attaching or disconnecting pressure gauge.
2. Connect gauge to fuel line which runs between the center of the fuel distribution and the control pressure regulator. (See repair manual for specific model information).
3. When disconnecting the pressure gauge, wrap a rag around the fuel line connection to catch escaping fuel.
4. Operate fuel pump according to instructions on Fuel Pump Relay.
