Turbocharger: Service Precautions

1. Prior to disassembling any turbocharger components, thoroughly clean all surface areas that may get dirt into the system.
2. Place all parts on a clean, lint free surface, and cover them with plastic wrap or some other lint free material. Do not use rags as lint will contaminate the turbocharger.
3. Do not install components until they have been thoroughly cleaned. Do not remove parts from containers until you are ready to install them on the vehicle.
4. Before any work is begun on the turbocharger system, place the vehicle in a position away from any device that is likely to produce dust or airborne abrasives.
5. Do not move the vehicle once the turbocharger system has been disassembled to prevent dust or airborne abrasives from entering the engine.
