Diagnosis

Check system operation
^ Engine warm and idling.
^ LED temperature display should be lit.
^ LED above mode buttons light up when buttons are pressed.

Note: Following description of system operation is valid if workshop temperature is around 68°F (20°C). If workshop temperature is considerably higher or lower than 68°F (20°C), system may not operate as described.

Note: If vacuum system fails, climate control automatically switches to maximum defrost.

Check heater flap cable adjustment.





^ Engine warm and idling
^ Set control head to Auto 9O°F (32°C) Full Heat
^ Wait 2 minutes
^ Check cable adjustment at heat exchanger housing






^ Set control head to Auto 6O°F (15°C) Full Cooling
^ Wait 2 minutes
^ Check cable adjustment at heat exchanger housing


Check air outlet temperature.
^ Insert thermometer into center dash vent
^ Open all dash vents
^ Set control head to Auto
^ Run engine at 2000 RPM
- If ambient temp. is below 90°F (32°C) open doors
- If ambient temp. is above 90°F (32°C) close doors





^ After 5 minutes vent temperature should correspond to graph. If not, continue to Symptoms Index. Control System
