Computer, checking


- push selector button to right and select all functions in sequence

If functions cannot be selected, - check function selector switch

If functions can be displayed, - push time display button

If there is no time display, - check function selector switch OR
- check 10-point connector between computer control unit and computer

If there is no break, - replace computer or computer control unit

Function Selector Switch (Removed):





Function selector switch, checking

- remove computer from instrument panel
- disconnect 6-point connector from selector switch
- push function selector switch forward and out of computer


- connect ohmmeter between contacts R and 31
^ specified value: infinity ohm
- push reset button
^ specified value: approx. 0.0 ohm

- connect ohmmeter between contacts 31 and 1
^ specified value approx. infinity ohm
- push function selector switch to left for time display
^ specified value: approx. 0.0 ohm

- connect ohmmeter between contacts 31 and 2
^ specified value: infinity ohm
- push function selector button to right
^ specified value: 0.0 ohm


Note

If one of specified values is not attained, - replace function selector switch

Function Selector Switch Connector:





If all specified values were attained, - check wires between 6-point selector button connector and 25-point connector of computer control unit


- connect ohmmeter as follows:
6-point connector 25-point connector
31 and 4
R and 3
2 and 2
1 and 1
^ specified value: 0.0 ohm

Computer Control Unit Connector:





- connect 25-point connector to computer control unit

Function Selector Switch Connector:





- connect voltmeter between contacts 31 and 15 of function selector switch connector
- switch parking lights ON
- turn console light dimmer fully to the right
^ specified value: approx. 12.0 V
- switch parking lights OFF

If specified values are not attained, check wiring for breaks using current flow diagram.
