Auto Check System Symbols and Components

Following Symbols are Displayed:



Brake fluid level too low Operating pressure of power brake below 120 bar (1740 psi) Hydraulic fluid level too low



Engine oil pressure below 1.8 bar (26 psi) RPM over 2000 Engine oil pressure below 0.3 bar (4 psi)



Coolant temp. above 120~C (248~F)



Brake light not operating (fuse, switch, wire)



Wear limit on front brake pads (pad thickness without backing plates approx. 2 mm (0.080 in.)



Headlight low beam, or taillight not operating (fuse, switch, wire)



Battery voltage below 10.6 volts or above 15.6 volts



Fluid level of windshield washer tank too low



Fuel left in tank, 12 Liters (approx. 3 gal.)



No failure

Display unit lights, checking, measure with Ohmmeter between contact 4 of 8 point connection and contacts 1, 2, 3, and 7, also on 6 point connection contact 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 spec's 2.5-3.5 Ohms if not, replace bulb carrier

Brake fluid level sending unit, checking
- remove sending unit
- measure resistance with Ohmmeter spec's, float up = infinity Ohm float down = 0 Ohm if not, replace sending unit

Coolant level sending unit, checking
- remove sending unit
- measure resistance with Ohmmeter spec's float up = infinity Ohm float down = 0 Ohm if not, replace sending unit

Hydraulic fluid level sending unit, checking
- remove sending unit
- measure resistance with Ohmmeter spec's, float up = infinity Ohm float down = O Ohm

Coolant temperature switch, checking
- measure resistance with Ohmmeter spec's, up to 120~C (248~F) = infinity Ohm above 120~C (248~F) = 0 Ohm

Sending unit, windshield/washer level, checking
- remove washer tank
- measure resistance on sending unit with Ohmmeter spec's: tank filled = infinity Ohm tank empty = 0 Ohm if not, replace washer tank

Hydraulic pressure warning switch, checking
- disconnect wire on warning switch
- press brake pedal about 20 times, engine not running
- measure resistance with Ohmmeter spec's = 0 Ohm
- start engine, let idle for about 1 minute
- measure resistance with Ohmmeter spec's = infinity Ohm
