Fig. 45 Throttle Position Protractor:

1. Remove throttle housing from the intake manifold.
2. Install a protractor (tool 3084 or equivalent, Fig. 45) to the throttle shaft, and a pointer to the throttle housing.
3. Set the zero point of the protractor at the idle rest position.
4. Connect an ohmmeter to both terminals of the full throttle switch.
5. Full throttle switch should close (0 ohms) at 53° - 63° of throttle opening.
6. Adjust the switching point by loosening the mounting screws, and moving the switch.
