Fuel Pump Circuit, Testing

- check fuse No. 13 (15 amps) in fuse/relay panel and replace if necessary





1984-1985





1986-1988
- remove fuel pump relay from fuse/relay panel (see arrow)
- connect remote control VW 1348/3A to fuse panel in place of fuel pump relay
- turn switch of VW 1348/3A ON
- fuel pump must run audibly

IF NO
- check wiring and relay panel for open circuit using wiring diagram
If pump runs with remote control VW 1348/3A ON but DOES NOT run when cranking engine:
- check fuel pump relay and connections using wiring diagram
- turn OFF VW 1348/3A
