Work Sequence:





Computer, checking

Work sequence

- switch ignition ON
- select all computer functions in sequence, pressing function selector switch (1) and bottom of switch (2) to select time display

If it is not possible to select all functions, - check function selector switch
- repeat test

If it still is not possible to select all functions, or if computer display is dim:

- remove instrument cluster. (Do not detach connectors)
- check printed circuit for day/night illumination as follows:

Connections:





- connect voltmeter between connections for day illumination (A)
- switch ignition ON

Specified value:
^ 12.0 V (approx.)

- connect voltmeter between connections for night illumination (B)
- switch headlights ON and turn dimmer to full bright position specified value:
^ 12.0 V (approx.)

If one of the specified readings is not attained, - repair break in wiring using current flow diagram

If specified readings are attained, - replace day/night illumination bulbs

Computer Connections at Hall Sender, Checking:

Black wire (1) Green wire (2) Cruise control system connection (3)

14 Point Connector:





- turn ignition ON
- connect voltmeter between contacts 1 & 2, 1 & D and 1 & E of 14 point connector one after the other

Specified value:
^ 12.0 V

- connect voltmeter between contacts 2 & 10, 2 & C, 2 & D of 14 point connector one after the other

Specified value:
^ 12.0 V

Note

If one of specified reading is not obtained, - repair break in wiring or
- replace voltage stabilizer

If specified readings are obtained and no display appears, - replace computer base plate or
- inspect printed circuit for damage

Computer Range Reading, Calibrating:





Computer range reading, calibrating

Note

Calibrate the range reading only after performing the following repairs:

^ replacing sender for fuel gauge
^ replacing computer (when range reading defective)

Note

Calibrate range reading with full fuel tank.

- press reset button with ignition switched OFF and hold
- switch ignition ON

- release reset button
^ display: approx. 700-800

Adjust Range Reading with Allen Wrench:





- adjust range reading with Allen wrench (arrow)

Note

The range calibrating screw can be turned only 1/2 turn between stops

Specified value:
^ 750

If the specified value is not attained, - check fuel gauge
- repeat range calibration

If the specified value still is not attained, - replace computer module
