Factory installed seat/backrest heating elements are sewn into upholstery material.

Only Part number 443 963 555 S is used as replacement element.

Work sequence

- remove seat from vehicle
- disconnect defective heating element
- remove seat/backrest cover

Note

Defective element remains in seat/backrest.

- cut defective element wires as short as possible
- turn cover upside down on workbench

- position replacement heating element on seat/backrest cover
^ first crosspiece on seat/backrest has no element
- mark and cut slits at both sides of foam packing of cover

CAUTION

Take care NOT to cut through or into old element.

- insert replacement element with wood ruler

Note

Replacement element goes over old element.

EXTENDING ELEMENT MATERIAL:





- fold over and tuck extending element material back into cover (as shown)

- fasten heating element to foam packing with upholstery clips
- connect electrical wires
- install cover
- reinstall seat in vehicle
- check seat/backrest heating for proper function
