CAUTION
Before proceeding with repairs to electrical system, disconnect battery ground strap.
Bi-pressure pump, removing
Work sequence
Bi-pressure pump
- remove right side trim panel in trunk
- unbolt pump (arrow)
- pull off electrical connector
- pull off pressure hose
- remove pump with insulation
Bi-pressure pump, installing
Work sequence
- reinstall pressure hose
- reinstall electrical connector
- remount pump
- reinstall trim panel
- check system for proper function
Note
If bi-pressure pump has been replaced, the power operated door locks will only function after being operated several times.
Front door control/operating valve, removing
Work sequence
Note
Driver's door contains control valve. Rear lid and other doors have operating valves.
Control/operating valve
- remove door trim panel
- pull back plastic moisture barrier
- remove bolts (arrows)
- unhook connecting rod
- pull off pressure hose (R/S door only)
- remove electrical connector (driver's door only)
- remove control/operating valve
Front door control/operating valve, installing
Work sequence
- reinstall pressure hose
- rehook connecting rod
- reinstall electrical connector (if applicable)
- reinstall control/operating valve
- check plastic moisture barrier for damage, replace if necessary
- reinstall trim panel
- check system for proper function
Rear door operating valve, removing

- remove door trim panel
- pull back plastic moisture barrier
- remove phillips head screws (arrows)
- unhook connecting rod
- pull off pressure hose
- remove operating valve
Rear door operating valve, installing
Work sequence
- reinstall pressure hose
- rehook connecting rod
- remount operating valve
- check plastic moisture barrier for damage, replace if necessary
- reinstall trim panel
- check system for proper function
Rear lid operating valve, removing

- remove phillips head screws (arrows)
- unhook connecting rod
- pull off pressure hose
- remove operating valve

- reinstall pressure hose
- rehook connecting rod
- remount operating valve
- check system for proper function
Note
When system is functioning properly, all locks must close within two seconds. If bi-pressure pump runs more than five seconds system has leak. Control valve in bi-pressure pump should shut off pump after 35 seconds.
