Subject: Sunroof - Whistling - Vibration Noise
Cause:

Tolerances in sunroof assembly.

Production Change:

A. Textile adhesive tape (30 mm wide) applied to painted surface of rear water tray over the entire opening width (820 mm).

As of: March 1985 VIN: 81_F_138551

B. Sound absorber, P/N 171 827 379, applied to left and right inner side of sunroof panel.

C. Two (2) sound absorbers, P/N 171 827 379, glued together applied between lower sunroof headliner frame and water drain.

As of: March 1986 VIN: 81_G_148121



Service Solution:

A. Apply textile adhesive tape (no disassembly required).

B. Remove sunroof panel and apply one (1) each sound absorber, P/N 171 827 379, into recess of left and right inner side of sunroof panel (dimensions from inner edge of seal on, sketch).

C. Tilt sunroof panel and apply two (2) sound absorbers, P/N 171 827 379, (glued together) in center of water drain.
