Checking

Coolant temperature gauge, checking




- detach connector from temperature sending unit (arrow)




- connect VW 1301 between connector with brown/black lead and ground
- switch ignition ON
- set dial of VW 1301 to following numbers and check gauge reading
• 544 = cold
• 60 = hot




- needle must be within corresponding tolerance ranges (arrows )
• A = cold
• B = hot

Note: Keep VW 1301 connected at least 2 minutes to allow gauge needle to reach checking ranges.

If not within tolerance, check voltage supply and voltage stabilizer, otherwise replace temperature gauge
