Output Signal Tests


Control unit output signals, checking
Fuel pump relay signal

Work sequence





- Pull fuel pump relay from relay panel, location number 10
- Connect voltmeter between terminals 46 and 50, then terminals 48 and 50, with ignition switched ON
^ Specification: approx. 12 V

If specification NOT OK
Check for open circuit in wiring according to current flow diagram
- Connect voltmeter between terminals 46 and 47
- Briefly actuate starter
^ Specification: approx. 9.5 V

If specification OK
- Replace fuel pump relay

If specification NOT OK
- Check circuits as follows
- Remove control unit cover located in footwell on passenger side of vehicle





- Unplug control unit connector





- Using ohmmeter, check for continuity across following terminals
^ Connector A terminal (21) and relay mount 10 terminal (47)
^ Connector A terminal (31) and relay mount 10 terminal (49)
^ specification; approx 0.2 ohm

If specification NOT OK
- Check for open circuit in wiring according to current flow diagram

If wiring OK
- Replace control unit
