Ignition System Voltage

1. Disconnect wiring harness connector to Hall generator at distributor, connect voltmeter to outer terminals on connector and switch ignition to On position.
2. If meter reads at least 5 volts, check the Hall Control Unit.
3. If reading is not at least 5 volts, check continuity of harness between distributor and control unit, correct as needed and recheck voltage.
4. If voltage is still not within specifications, disconnect wiring connector to control unit, connect voltmeter positive lead to connector terminal 4 and negative lead to connector terminal 2, and switch ignition to On position.
5. If meter indicates battery voltage, reconnect harness to control unit and check the Hall control unit, leaving Hall generator disconnected at distributor.
6. If meter does not indicate battery voltage, repair power feed circuit as needed.
