Gas Use From Start/Corr. Factor, Boost Press./Funct. Selec. CK.

Function Selector Switch:




Consumption correction factor (in %), checking

Work sequence

- switch ignition OFF
- press reset button and hold
- switch ignition ON
- release reset button
- press function selector switch and hold until end of display

Correction Factor Display:




- check display
^ correction factor is display (%)

If correction factor is displayed, - check fuel consumption from start (G) (ltr)
Note

The correction range is between 0 and +/- 16%

If the correction factor is a negative number, a minus sign (-) will be displayed. For example: -16 is negative 16:

If the correction factor is a positive number, a positive sign (+) will NOT be displayed. For example: 16 is a positive 16

If the correction range is NOT displayed, - check function selector switch, - repeat test

If consumption correct factor is still NOT displayed, - replace computer

- select G---> (ltr--->) function with function selector switch
- press reset button for 5 seconds (while driving)

Note

After approximately 3 miles or 3 km, fuel consumption will be displayed in Gal. or ltr.

Fuel Consumption Display:




- check display
^ 0.1 to 0.3 G (0.1 to 1 ltr)
If consumption is displayed, - check boost pressure display

If consumption is NOT displayed, - check fuel consumption sender
- repeat test

If consumption is still NOT displayed, - check computer

Function Selector Switch:




Boost pressure, checking

Work sequence

- switch ignition ON
- select boost pressure display with function selector switch

Boost Pressure Display:




- check display
^ approximately 1.0 bar (this value will vary with altitude)

If boost pressure is NOT displayed, - check boost display control, - repeat test
If boost pressure is still NOT displayed, - repair short circuit using current flow diagram

Function Selector Switch:




Function selector switch, checking

Work sequence

- remove digital clock
- remove 6 point connector from function selector switch

- pull function selector switch forward out of display unit

Function Selector Switch, Rear View:




Function selector switch, rear view

- connect ohmmeter between contact R and 31
^ specified value: infinity ohms
- press reset button
^ specified value: approx. 0 ohm
- connect ohmmeter between contact 31 and 1
^ specified value: infinity ohm
- push left function selector switch
^ specified value: approx. 0 ohm
- connect ohmmeter between contact 31 and 2
^ specified value: infinity ohm
- push right function selector switch
^ specified value: approx. 0 ohm

If specified values are not obtained, - replace function selector switch

Wire Connector, Function Selector Switch:




- switch ignition ON
- connect voltmeter between contacts 31 and 15 of 6 point wire connector
- turn park lights ON and turn instrument panel illumination control to the left as far as it will go
^ specified value: approx. 12.0V
- switch ignition OFF

If specified values are NOT obtained, - repair wiring using current flow diagram

If specified values are obtained, - remove instrument cluster
- check for continuity between wire connector of function selector switch and connector of computer

Wire Connector, Function Selector Switch:




Wire Connector, Computer:




- check for continuity between these points:

6 point connector 10 point connector
31 3
R 6
2 4
1 2

^ specified value: approx. 0.2 ohm

If specified values are NOT obtained, - repair break in wiring using current flow diagram

If specified values are obtained, - reconnect 10 point connector to computer and check computer
