Fault Memory & Display
Fault Memory
The new climate control system has a fault memory incorporated in the control panel head. This fault memory constantly monitors the systems components. If a problem or defect develops, the fault memory will store this information and also take corrective action if necessary. The information stored in the fault memory can be easily called up for display on the control panel.
The fault memory has 23 different channels in which it can store information. Some of these channels, however, are reserved for future use and not currently utilized. Intermittent faults are stored only as long as the fault exists.
If a fault occurs that will affect the temperature regulation (i.e., faulty inside temperature sensor), the ambient temperature display light (arrow) will flash for approximately 60 seconds. This will happen once every time the ignition is turned on or when the fault first occurs.
If other types of faults occur, the system will take the appropriate corrective action and store the fault information for later display.
Fault Memory Display
Information stored in the fault memory can be called up for display on the control panel by pressing two buttons. To activate the fault memory display:
^ Press and hold down the AMBIENT DISPLAY button.
^ Briefly press the OFF button while holding the "ambient display button" down.
The display will then show the first channel number (01). There are 23 channels available in the fault memory.
The display of a channel number can be identified by the vertical segment that is displayed at the upper left of the number.
To obtain information from a channel, press the COOLER button. The vertical segment will go out and the number that is now displayed is a digital information code for that channel.
To advance to the next channel, press the WARMER button. The fault memory will advance sequentially to channel 23 then begin again at channel 1.
The system will continue to run at the previous temperature and mode when the fault memory is displayed. The fault memory display can be turned off by pressing any mode button or turning the ignition "OFF".
