Idle and full throttle switches, checking
Work sequence





- Unplug connector for throttle switches at throttle body (arrow)





Voltage supply, checking

- Connect voltmeter between terminal 2 of connector C and ground
- Switch ON ignition
^ Specification: approx. 12V
- Switch OFF ignition

If specification NOT OK
- Check for open circuit in wiring and repair as necessary see current flow diagram

Idle switch, checking





- Connect ohmmeter between terminals 1 and 2
^ Specification: approx. 0 ohm
- Actuate switch with throttle lever
^ Specification: infinite ohm

If specification NOT OK
- Adjust idle switch
- Repeat measurement

If specification still NOT OK
- Replace idle switch and adjust
If specification OK
- Check full throttle switch

Full throttle switch, checking

Work sequence





- Connect ohmmeter between contacts 2 and 3
^ Specification: infinite ohm
- Actuate switch with throttle lever
^ Specification: 0 ohm

If specifications NOT OK
- Adjust idle switch
- Recheck with ohmmeter

If still NOT OK
- Replace full throttle switch








If specifications OK
- Check wiring between connector C and control unit connector A as follows
- Remove control unit cover located in footwell on passenger side of vehicle
- Unplug control unit connector
- Use ohmmeter to check continuity between terminals of connector C and control unit connector A:
^ Connector C terminal (1) and control unit connector A terminal (20)
^ Connector C terminal (3) and control unit connector A terminal (26)
^ Specifications: approx. 0 ohm

If specifications NOT OK
- Check for open circuit in wiring between connectors A and C according to current flow diagram

If specs. OK and system NOT OK
- Replace control unit
