Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Description and Operation

The coolant temperature sensor consists of two variable resistors. One resistor is connected to the ignition computer, and the other resistor is connected to the Injection computer, (both resistors have identical values). The information from the coolant temperature sensor is used by each computer to make corrections in the fuel mixture and ignition timing. The sensor is located in the engine coolant outlet flange, between cylinders #1 and #2.
