Cause:
A. Rubber buffers installed too high.

B. Lock pin spring too strong requiring excessive force to close front hood properly.

Service:
A. Check rubber buffers, P/N 171 823 499, (Sketch "A" arrow) for correct adjustment. Adjust buffers to achieve proper hood alignment and closing effort.

B. If necessary install soft lock pin spring, P/N 431 823 541 (Sketch "B").
