Transmission and Drivetrain: Application and ID

On 089 type transaxles, the type I.D. number is located on top of the transmission housing, and the transaxle codes are stamped into the top of the converter housing flange. On 087 type transaxles, the type I.D. number is cast into the RH side of the final drive housing, and the transaxle codes are stamped into the top of the converter housing flange and on LH converter housing reinforcement rib.
On all transaxles, the transaxle codes consist of a letter code, followed by the build day, month and year.
