Rough cylinder surface or incorrectly assembled cup seal cause leaks at clutch actuating cylinder.

Check clutch pedal for ease of operation and grease pedal bushings if necessary (see Repair Manual).
Remove/replace clutch slave cylinder if rubber boot contains brake fluid residue.
Leaks can occur in master cylinder in area of primary cup which do not result in visible brake fluid losses, but still can produce failure in clutch operation. Therefore, replace clutch master cylinder if no fluid residue or leaks are visible at clutch slave cylinder.
