Removing and Clevis Adjusting Brake Servo

Before disconnecting the pressure line at the brake servo:
^ be sure engine is OFF
^ reduce operating pressure by applying brake pedal 20 times, or until pedal-feel hardens
^ remove battery GND (Ground) strap
^ remove strainer from brake fluid reservoir
^ suction out brake fluid from fluid reservoir
WARNING
Brake fluid is poisonous.
CAUTION
Brake fluid is corrosive to painted parts.
^ vehicles with manual transmission ONLY:
^ remove hose (for clutch master cylinder) from brake fluid reservoir
^ disconnect brake fluid level warning sensor
^ remove brake fluid reservoir carefully
disconnect brake lines (arrows) at brake master cylinder
^ seal openings of brake lines and brake master cylinder with plugs
^ disconnect brake master cylinder from brake servo
^ remove brake master cylinder
^ disconnect return line 1 at brake servo
^ disconnect connector 2 at warning light switch
^ disconnect pressure line 3 at brake servo
^ remove storage compartment, driver's side
^ remove footwell air outlet
^ remove securing clip from clevis pin and withdraw pin from clevis
^ disconnect brake servo from bulkhead
^ remove hydraulic brake servo carefully
Clevis, adjusting
^ transfer clevis from old brake servo to new brake servo
^ adjust clevis:
Note
Before measuring, fully extend push rod outward from brake servo. Be sure clevis is positioned, as shown.
Clevis adjustment dimension a depends on VIN number:
Up through VIN 44 JN 201 030:
^ a - 249.0 +/- 0.5 mm
From VIN 44 JN 210 031:
^ a = 230.0 +/- 0.5 mm
