Problem

Door protective moldings loose at lower edge.

Service Solution:

Door protective moldings, removing

^ remove cap nuts (arrow) from inside of door panel at front and rear of door

^ carefully pull molding off door

Note

Loose moldings can be re-used. Replace only if damaged or severely warped.





Original door protective moldings, Installing


CAUTION

Part numbers are for reference only. Always check with your Parts Department for latest parts information.

^ remove residual adhesive from molding and door with 3M(C) General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner or equivalent

^ Do not use brake or carburetor cleaner

^ prime adhesive contact areas on body, and door protective molding with primer from adhesive kit Part No. D004 300 03

Note

Primer, Part No. D 009 200 01 may also be ordered separately.

^ apply adhesive D 009 100 03 to edges of molding (arrow)





^ position molding and press firmly onto door

^ reinstall cap nuts and tighten

^ allow to dry 4 hours at 20~C (68~F)

Replacement door protective moldings, installing

^ clean adhesive contact area on door

^ pull off foil from new molding (arrow)

^ position molding and press firmly onto door

^ reinstall cap nuts and tighten
