Instrument cluster, removing/installing

WARNING
Some cars are equipped with a supplemental restraint system (SRS), that automatically deploys an airbag in the event of a frontal impact. The airbag is operated by an explosive device. Handled improperly or without adequate safe guards, it can be accidently activated and cause serious personal injury.


^ remove battery ground strap
^ remove steering wheel horn pad
^ disconnect wiring
^ remove steering wheel
^ 40 Nm (30.0 ft lb)




^ loosen screw for steering column switch retaining clamp
^ lift switch assembly forward
^ remove electrical connectors




^ remove retaining screws 2
^ pull cover strip 3 off




^ remove mounting screws (arrows)
^ carefully pull instrument cluster from instrument panel
^ disconnect electrical connectors and remove instrument cluster
