Removing
Hydraulic brake servo, removingNOTE: Before disconnecting the pressure line at the brake servo:
- be sure engine is OFF
- reduce operating pressure by applying brake pedal 20 times, or until pedal feel hardens
- remove battery GND (Ground) strap
- remove strainer from brake fluid reservoir
- suction out brake fluid from fluid reservoir
WARNING Brake fluid is poisonous.
CAUTION: Brake fluid is corrosive to painted parts.
- vehicles with manual transmission ONLY
- remove hose (for clutch master cylinder) from brake fluid reservoir
- disconnect brake fluid level warning sensor
- remove brake fluid reservoir carefully
- disconnect brake lines (arrows) at brake master cylinder
- seal openings of brake lines and brake master cylinder with plugs
- disconnect brake master cylinder from brake servo
- remove brake master cylinder
- disconnect return line 1 at brake servo
- disconnect connector 2 at warning light switch
- disconnect pressure line 3 at brake servo
- remove storage compartment, driver's side
- remove footwell air outlet
- remove securing clip from clevis pin and withdraw pin from clevis
- disconnect brake servo from bulkhead
- remove hydraulic brake servo carefully
