Cause:
Inadequate fastening of protective molding to body.

Service:
1. and 2. Replace damaged moldings

1. 80, 80 Quattro - Rear side panel molding

- Remove malformed molding
- Activate bonding area on body with primer D 009300 or with primer from adhesive kit D 004300.03
- Activate bonding area on molding with primer D 009600 or with primer from adhesive kit D 004300.03
- Apply adhesive D009100.03 (width 4.00 mm) to molding (marked b)
- Position molding and press firmly to body
- Allow to dry 4 hrs. at 20~C (68~F)


2. 90, 90 Quattro - Rear side panel molding The same procedure as it is for the 80, 80 Quattro, except:

- Apply adhesive D 009100.03 around perimeter (marked a)
- Fasten moldings to wheel housing with clamps P/N 893853805/806
- Replace fender and door protective moldings per repair manual group 66
