Seat Belt Systems: Description and Operation
Circuit Description
Power for the seat belt warning system is supplied from the "15" circuit in the fuse/relay panel and from the ignition/start switch when the key is in the "On" position. A chime and a warning light are interconnected with a switch in the driver's seat belt clasp and the seat belt warning control unit
When the ignition is switched "On," the warning light will illuminate and the chime will sound for approximately six seconds. If the seat belt is fastened before the six second interval, the chime will go out. The driver's door must also be closed to silence the chime.
