Fuel Injector: Service and Repair

Intake Manifold And Injector Assembly:

1. Relieve fuel system pressure by starting engine with the fuel pump electrical connector disconnected (at the pump). Let engine run until it dies. Then slowly and carefully loosen a hose connection at the fuel filter. Cover with a clean rag when doing so to avoid spraying fuel.
2. Remove pressure regulator from intake manifold.
3. Remove fuel rail from intake manifold.
4. One at a time, press injector into fuel rail connection, remove the half circle retaining clip and remove injectors from fuel rail.
5. Install in reverse order.

NOTE: Use new O-ring gaskets and lubricate them with gasoline prior to installing.
