Ohms Measurements
35 Position ECU Plug:
Connector View
CAUTION: When measuring Ohms disconnect the ECU from the harness plug and never turn the ignition key on. It is possible that failure to follow these steps will result in damage to the ECU.
GROUNDS
KEY OFF
Pin 18 to G1 CONTINUITY
Pin 35 to G1 CONTINUITY
Pin 34 to G1 CONTINUITY
Pin 34 is a ground for M/T only.
COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR
Pin 3 to 35
68°F 2200 - 2800 Ohms
176-194°F 200 - 350 Ohms
THROTTLE SWITCH
Pin 28 to 35 (Closed) 0 - 1 Ohms
Pin 31 to 35 (Full load) 0 - 1 Ohms
ALTITUDE SENSOR
Changes with Altitude
Pin 26 to 35 2100 - 2600 Ohms
Pin 23 to 35 200 - 3800 Ohms
- Disconnect the Air Flow Potentiometer as it will effect the readings.
- The resistance between pin 23 and 35 will depend on the altitude.
- The ignition control unit also needs to be disconnected when measuring the altitude sensor for ohms since the altitude sensor provides a signal to the ignition control unit too.
ELECTRO-HYDRAULIC ACTUATOR
Winding(s)
Pin 4 to 5 17 - 22 Ohms
AIR FLOW SENSOR
Disconnect Altitude sensor before taking measurements.
At rest
Pin 26 to 35 (Supply) 3800 - 4800 Ohms
Pin 23 to 35 (load) 4500 - 5500 Ohms
Flap on air flow sensor closed or air flow senor plate at rest position. Resistance increases as flap or plate opens.
Pin 23 to 35 (load) 700 - 1200 Ohms
Flap on air flow sensor opened to maximum or air flow plate deflected to maximum.
CARBON CANISTER FREQ. VALVE
Winding(s)
Pin 14 to 15 30 - 60 Ohms
COLD START INJECTOR
Winding
Pin 14 to 16 8 - 13 Ohms
ISC VALVE
Winding(s)
Pin 14 to 17 8 - 12 Ohms
