Left Side

1. Remove left side axle shaft protector, then disconnect parking brake cable from right side caliper.
2. Disconnect trapezoidal arm from crossmember and lower, then press parking brake cable out of bracket.
3. Disconnect axle shaft from flange, then loosen exhaust pipe.
4. Move exhaust pipe toward right side, trapezoidal arm to left side and axle shaft downward.
5. Drain differential oil, then remove flange shaft bolt and flange. Do not lose adjustment shim between flange shaft and differential gear.
6. Pry out oil seal using prying tool 2078 or equivalent.
7. Screw in threaded rod of seal installation tool 3066 or equivalent, then install new oil seal onto seal installation tool 3066/1 or equivalent.
8. Draw in new oil seal and tighten hex nut up to stop.
9. Install flange shaft and axle shaft, then refill differential oil.
10. Tighten exhaust pipe, then reconnect trapezoidal arm and parking brake cable.
11. Install left side axle shaft protector.
12. Torque flange to differential bolts to 7 ft. lbs. plus an additional 1/4 turn, axle shaft to flange M8 bolts to 33 ft. lbs., axle shaft to flange M10 bolts to 60 ft. lbs. and trapezoidal arms to crossmember to 63 ft. lbs.
