Seats: Description and Operation

Circuit Description
Each power seat has two height adjust motors (front and back), a fore/aft adjust motor, and a backrest adjust motor. On 1988 and 1989 models, the driver's seat also includes a headrest adjust motor.
The power seats receive power at all times ("30" circuit). The power seat with memory circuit is protected by a circuit breaker (20 amp) mounted on the auxiliary relay panel, and by fuse #23 (30 amp).

The driver's seat with memory is controlled by an electronic control unit. Each adjust motor contains a sender unit. Within each sender unit is a variable resistance track. As the seat changes position, the resistance through the sender unit also changes. When a memory recall position is selected, the adjust motors operate until the resistance matches the value previously stored in the control unit.
