Throttle Full Open Switch: Description and Operation
Throttle Switches:
Two switches are used to detect the position of the throttle to determine full load and idle operation. These switches are mounted on the throttle body. The idle switch closes when the throttle is in the idle position, and the full throttle or wide open throttle (WOT) switch closes when the throttle valve is near wide open (within 8~-12~ of the full throttle stop). The signals from these switches help the ECU determine when to engage certain functions, such as idle speed control, deceleration fuel shut-off, full load enrichment and ignition timing controls.
