Beginning with Model Year 1993, California law requires that uniformly applied by all manufacturers when referring to emission related components and systems.

Some of the replacement terms may at first seem unfamiliar but they will be used by all manufacturers when referring to these same components or systems.

The word list will be periodically updated with new terms as they are approved. While not complete, the list attempts to cover those applications presently being used by Volkswagen and Audi Publications.
