Drive Belt: Adjustments










Alternator V-belt, Tensioning
- Remove upper radiator trim.
- Loosen mounting bolts A, B and C (at least one complete turn).

Note: The alternator must be free to swing under its own weight, after the mounting bolts are loosened.

- Tighten v-belt by turning adjusting nut D.
- Tighten to, new belt: 6 Nm (53 in Ib), used belt: 3 Nm (27 in Ib)
- Using torque wrench, then tighten mounting bolt B of adjuster nut
- Check belt tension using thumb pressure.
- new belt: approximately 2 mm (0.08 in.) used belt: approximately 5 mm (0.2 in.)
- Tighten mounting bolts B and C.
- Torque to 35 Nm (26 ft lb)
- Tighten bolt A.
- Torque to 20 Nm (15 ft lb).

Central Hydraulic System Pump,
V-belt Tensioning




- Loosen both bolts 1 and lock nut 2.
- Turn bolt 3 of tensioner as needed.
- Check belt tension using thumb.
- Must deflect approximately 10 mm (0.4 in.)
- Tighten both mounting bolts 1 and lock nut 2.
- Torque to 20 Nm (15 ft Ib)
